Writing Writing Writing

This is going to be the start of a really busy month for me. Along with my regular DJTees work, my 9th Nick Guymer novel, Teesside Shadows' will be published and I need to finish the first draft of the 10th book.

That would normally be plenty of work for me, but this August I'm also on the Fosters Comedy Awards panel at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It's a hugely prestiguous award and an honour to be asked to be a judge. This means I'll be going to about 40 comedy shows a week for 3 weeks. Throw in writing reviews for The Mirror online, as well as my football writing gigs - the new season is just about to start - and I'm going to be wearing the letters off my keyboard.

While all of this is very time consuming, I don't like to think of it as real work. My granddad Fred worked down a mine in the West Yorkshire coalfield, hacking coal out with a pick axe all his life, yeah, now that's work. By contrast I'll be sitting in small hot rooms watching comedians. I know who's got the easier job.

Back on the DJTees ranch, Dawn has just uploaded our huge Years category. These have always been massively popular and cover every year from 1945 - 2000. She's also putting the finishing touches to our large 'miscellaneous' section. You'll find all sorts of non-musical related stuff in there.

Once that's done, we'll be starting on designing new t-shirts. The music never stops.

Thanks for your support.

cheers, Johnny.
