Hello America!

Hello America!
John Nicholson|

You might recall, a while back we warned you about a major price increase coming. Well it’s here. In the next week, we’ll have to put up prices for you by $6.50 because we’re looking at a 26.5% increase in costs! That’s because of the already imposed 10% tariff and a new 16.5% import duty. Under the old de minimis rule anything under $800 wasn’t subject to any import duty but now that's been abolished.

We’re only doing this for America-based customers because nowhere else has imposed as high tariff and import duties and it is a straight passing on of these imposed costs, We don’t in any way benefit. We’d previously sucked up the $10 tariff but that was always only going to be temporary.

We didn’t want to have to do this, obviously, but there’s only so far you can stretch your margins before trading becomes untenable. If in the future, America recognises the folly of these policies, embraces free trade again and abolishes them, we’ll reduce prices immediately but that's at least over two years away and even then, who knows?

We’re also having to absorb rises in production costs (t-shirts, ink, labour)  as well as in  postage charges. We’re getting hit from all sides just now.

This is an America-only price rise. I’m sorry. We’ve always valued our American customers for the last 24 years and appreciated their deep love of rock n roll. I hope you understand why we’ve had to do this.
