T-shirt Size, Quality & Print Info
All of our T-shirts are printed to order using state-of-the-art DTG (direct to garment) machines made by Kornit (look 'em up) to create stunning quality prints.
We use Gildan Ultra t-shirts as our standard t-shirt and if there is a stock issue with any size and colour (it occasionally happens) we use Gildan Heavy. They're 100% cotton. We've always used Gildan since we began in 2002.
We picked them for a number of reasons. Gildan operates sustainable manufacturing processes and commitment to responsible practices and was recently placed 32nd overall among The Wall Street Journal’s ranking of the Top 100 Most Sustainably Managed Companies in the world which sounds quite good.
We also thought it was important that the majority of the cotton Gildan uses is grown in the U.S.A. not least because we've so many friends and customers Stateside.
44% of Gildan’s total energy was powered by renewable resources in 2019, which seems cool, though I'd like to see it much higher. In 2007, Gildan launched a biomass steam generation facility to generate that energy. That sounds like the future.
We also use Gildan because they're just a normal t-shirt, cut for a normal person in the 21st century, not a high-fashion cut for skinny model who hasn't eaten for a week and lives off alfalfa sprouts and white light (whatever happened to those people who claimed to live off pure light? Probably having breakfast in Denny's)
There's plenty of room in them, they come in lots of colours and, albeit in just a few colours, go up to 5XL.
They also wash and wash and wash without shrinking or losing shape. I actually still wear the first one we ever printed (of Johnny Winter) in 2002. It's gone a bit floppy but still suitable for rock n roll. Much like myself.
We print everything to order usually within 1-3 working days.
Sometimes we do a take a bit longer if we have to wait for stock to arrive, or for some other reason beyond our control.
p.s No, we do not use transfers, or digi-cut vinyl (does anyone anymore?!)
