P.F.M. where the biggest Italian prog rock band. Their name translates as Award-winning Marconi Bakery, which is a superb name for a group, I reckon. Like being called Greggs or the Wholefood Supermarket! They were signed to ELP's Manticore label and made some great albums, some with Italian lyrics others with English like the great Chocolate Kings
Cook is their live album and it's an absolute classic mid-70s prog outing with lots of classically infused keyboards and some nice lead guitar. Recorded live in 1974 in America it made #154 on the Billboard chart and it's a great place to start with them. Later, on Chocolate Kings they went further towards a heavy rock sound - very successfully too - but Cook is them at their proggy best.
