There was a moment in the late 70s when Pat Travers was pretty big in UK. He'd first come over in 1976 supporting SAHB to promote this first album. I saw him on that tour at Newcastle City Hall and loved their set so much that I went to HMV the following day and bought the album. It remains my favourite of his.

While its production values are a little flat and soft, the songs such as Makes No Difference and the unromantically titled Medley Part 1 & 2 are really inventive and exciting. Pat plays all the guitar, whereas later he'd employ the talents of shredtastic Pat Thrall and they're especially good on the live album 'Go For What You Know'

There's a cover of a JJ Cale song, Magnolia and a bit of Chuck Berry too. The record is a many hued beast.

So if you've not listened to it in a while, dig it out and give it a spin. It's 50 long years old but it's still a great rock album
