The Mothers debut album from 1966 is one of the very few to be a double record, except it wasn't in the UK. The first pressings were single discs but the 1971 repress in UK was a double. It was always a double in American however where it made 130 on the Billboard charts, an amazing achievement for a record that is so out there.

A defining piece of music, it was easily one of the weirdest mainstream releases at the time and it was too far out for most. Thus it didn't sell in UK.

In the UK in came out on VerveVLP 9154. This is a stereo copy and worth about £90 but if you've got the mono copy, that tops out at around £125 for a mint condition. The repress double is only worth £30
