April 20: 1992: The remaining members of Queen held The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium reaching a global audience of over one billion people.

1968: Deep Purple (then billed as "Roundabout") performed their first-ever live show in Denmark.

1993: Aerosmith released Get a Grip, their massive 11th studio album.

April 21: 2016:Prince died at 57.

April 23: 1976: The Ramones released their self-titled debut album. The total cost of the album was only $6,400.

April 24: 1976: In one of rock's funniest "what ifs," Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels offered The Beatles a measly $3,000 to reunite on the show. Paul McCartney and John Lennon were actually hanging out at Lennon’s apartment in New York at the time. They were so amused by Lorne Michaels’ "check for $3,000" that they nearly called a taxi, but ultimately decided it would be "too much work" to get dressed and go down there.

April 26 1978: The Band’s legendary farewell concert film, The Last Waltz (directed by Martin Scorsese), premiered in theaters.

1994 Grace Slick pleaded guilty on this day to pointing a shotgun at police officers. She later explained she was under immense stress because her home had recently burned down, and she had lost almost all her possessions. She was sentenced to 200 hours of community service and several months of AA meetings.
