Do you forget where you get TV channels from?

We do, I don’t know how I’ve subscribed and consequently I don’t know how to unsubscribe. I’ve got so many subscriptions, I don’t even know what they’re for. So to try and sort this out, I’m deleting them all from the bank account so we don’t have any, then resubscribing when there’s something we want to see. I suspect we’ve had subscriptions for channels we never even watch which I signed up for years ago because there was one thing I wanted to see,

It’s like this in life more broadly. We lose everything. You name it we lose it, bank cards, car keys, jars of olives, anything. We put things down and forget where. At the moment I’m looking for the V5C form for the car which we’ll part exchange for another in the summer. You can’t sell it without this, so we’ve got to find it or get another. But it's been 5 years since we got it, so there’s not a cat in hell’s chance of laying my hands on it. You can get a replacement but because our address has changed, you’ve got to do this alteration by letter along with a cheque for £25. A cheque!! We don’t even have a chequebook - does anyone? It was 2018 when I last wrote one. For some reason, if your address hasn’t changed you can do it online with a card. What a stupid idea.

So I’m thinking of doing it online and let the redirected mail divert the replacement to us. These problems drive me nuts and waste so much time and effort. All because we can’t keep hold of anything.

We’re making a conscious effort to have places to always put things like keys, so we don’t lose them. I just lost my bank card, I put it in my pocket, forgot all about it and couldn’t find it two days later. So I’ve had to cancel it and get another sent. That’s twice in 5 weeks I’ve done that!

What we really need is a butler to take the burden of these things off our shoulders.Modern life seems too complicated, there has to be a more simple way to go about everything. 

And don’t talk to me about stopcocks!!
