Did you know Al was born in Scotland, Greenock, in 1945, but grew up in Dorset? I didn’t. This was created from a 1977 image of Al, touring the Year Of The Cat stateside, his most successful album making #5 in the USA but only #38 in the UK. His only hit in the UK was the title track, which still gets airplay but only peaked at #31, yet made #8 in America. E’s announced his retirement from touring in 2024. Well at 80 and nearly 20 albums he needs and deserves a rest. I'm sure I saw him on the. Year Of The Cat tour in Middlesbrough but I can't find any evidence he played at the Town Hall
