The Mary-y-Sol festival (this poster advertised it)in the first weeks of April 1972 in Puerto Rico had the usual festival problems of the time, heat, murder, conflict with locals, lack of money, toilets and food. But 30-odd performers played some great music. There was even a recorded message from John and Yoko. 30-35,000 attended but it is now remembered largely for the excellent but long deleted double live album of the event. The Mahavishnu Orchestra was especially superb.
