About the Product
This concert was part of their major spring tour following the massive success of their 1969 album Basket of Light. By this point, they were one of the biggest "crossover" acts in Britain, blending folk, jazz, and blues in a way that filled major classical venues like the Usher Hall.
The original "classic" quintet was: Jacqui McShee (vocals), Bert Jansch (guitar/vocals), John Renbourn (guitar/vocals), Danny Thompson (double bass), and Terry Cox (drums).
This was a period of intense activity for the band. Just months after this show, they would release Cruel Sister, an album that moved toward more traditional folk arrangements (like the 18-minute title track) and away from the shorter pop-folk hits like "Light Flight."
Reviews of their 1970 gigs often noted the "hushed" atmosphere of their shows. Because of the intricacy of the two-guitar interplay between Jansch and Renbourn, audiences at the Usher Hall were famously quiet, treating the performance more like a chamber music recital than a rock concert.

It means if you live in the EU, you will have to pay VAT on your order to get it delivered. Please don't waste all of our time by ordering if you aren't prepared to pay it and don't send me indignant emails about it - I can't help it, I hate it more than you, believe me and I have told you!! Right?
