They were not really that famous to the general public and drew their 1970’s audience from students, stoners and rock’s cognoscenti - whom I considered to be very much one of in my teens, collecting all their albums. They did record some excellent songs (A Night In Dad’s Bag for example) but long, extended, probably stoned, jams were their thing live and they are captured in their full glory on records like Back Into The Future, Maximum Darkness and Be Good To Yourself…which feature up to 25-minute excursions of dualling guitars and keys. I still love them to this day and they were a big part of the soundtrack of my teenage years, though as I recall, girls were less enamoured.
