Spirogyra Bells Boots And Shambles T-Shirt
About the Product
The band originally started in 1967 in Bolton, Lancashire, as a songwriting partnership between Martin Cockerham (vocals, acoustic guitar) and Mark Francis.
The Canterbury University Scene: In 1969, Cockerham enrolled at the University of Kent in Canterbury, bringing the band name with him. He expanded Spirogyra into a full ensemble with fellow students: Barbara Gaskin (lead vocals) Steve Borrill (bass)
Julian Cusack (violin, keyboards)
Managed by student union entertainment officer Max Hole, the group took a leave of absence from university to tour the UK underground circuit and open for acts like Traffic.
This was their third Bells, Boots and Shambles (1973)
They had stripped back primarily to the duo of Cockerham and Gaskin (who were romantically involved at the time).
Poorly promoted by Polydor at the time, it flopped upon release. However, it later became a celebrated "lost masterpiece" of UK acid folk, with original vinyl pressings fetching high prices among collectors.

EU Countries: You've heard of Brexit haven't you? If you haven't, I admire your ability to ignore the real world. It means if you live in the EU, you will have to pay VAT on your order to get it delivered. Please don't waste all of our time by ordering if you aren't prepared to pay it and don't send me indignant emails about it - I can't help it, I hate it more than you, believe me and I have told you!! Right?
