If this is your first time here you might be wondering what it’s all about. It is an unusual mixture of original writing and t-shirt designs, I know. But really it’s all an expression of the same thing: a love for rock music.
When me and my missus Dawn set up DJTees in 2002, from day one it was always an expression of my passion for rock music and records and Dawn’s passion for graphic design. In the intervening 16 years, I’ve gone on to have another career as a novelist and a writer, covering sport, music and the arts, and Dawn has become a successful artist. So when we decided to redesign DJTees.com it felt natural that we should try to pull all these things together to celebrate the classic rock, blues, soul and jazz music we all love.
That’s why you’ll find my blogs about festivals of the 60s and 70s. You’ll find record lists and charts. You’ll find discussion of vinyl records. Oh yeah, that’s another thing. I’m a big record collector with 5500 albums on vinyl, as well a thousand collectable singles. And I’m not stopping now!
You can also find me on Facebook every day talking about a record and even dispensing tips for fantastic if sometimes obscure breakfasts! And you’ll also discover how ‘everything relates to everything else’ via my legendary Album Bounce.
Obviously, I’d like you to buy something while you’re here, but if you don’t, that’s fine. Because when all said and done, it really is all about the music. The music brought us all together and the music continues to set us free.
