Recorded between July and October, Creams debut album was released on this day in 1966 along with the single I Feel Free. Released as both a stereo and mono version - the mono version is easily the best and most powerful.
It peaked at #6 on the UK album charts eventually selling over 100,000 copies. In USA it topped out at a modest #39, selling half a million.
One of the most important records in the history of what we would come to know as classic rock, it established the template of the virtuoso blues-based power trio.
