About the Product

Cold Blood was an American R&B horn funk band founded in 1968, and was originally based in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area. The band has also performed and recorded under the name Lydia Pense and Cold Blood

The band was formed by Larry Field, a guitarist and songwriter who had previously played in the bands The Charlatans and The Loading Zone. Field recruited Lydia Pense, a singer who had been working as a waitress, to front the band. The rest of the original lineup included Danny Hull (tenor saxophone and songwriter), Larry Jonutz (trumpet), Pat O'Hara (trombone), Raul Matute (Hammond organ, piano, arranger and songwriter), Jerry Jonutz (baritone, alto and tenor saxophone), David Padron (trumpet), Rod Ellicott (bass), and Frank Davis, who was replaced on drums by Sandy McKee .

Cold Blood quickly became one of the most popular bands in the Bay Area, and they were signed to Bill Graham's Fillmore Records in 1969. Their debut album was released in the same year and featured the singles "I Just Want to Make Love to You" and "Green Onions". The album was a critical and commercial success, and it helped to establish Cold Blood as one of the leading bands of the Bay Area funk scene.

The band continued to release albums and tour throughout the 1970s. They released their most successful album, Sisyphus, in 1971. The album featured the singles "Free Ride" and "Sisyphus". Cold Blood also toured with Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin.

EU Countries: You've heard of Brexit haven't you? If you haven't, I admire your ability to ignore the real world. It means if you live in the EU, you will have to pay VAT on your order to get it delivered. Please don't waste all of our time by ordering if you aren't prepared to pay it and don't send me indignant emails about it - I can't help it, I hate it more than you, believe me and I have told you!! Right?
