The tour hit the UK in March and April 1967 and traveled extensively through the North and Scotland. The Stax artists were shocked by their reception. In Memphis, they were playing to segregated or small club audiences; in the UK, they were greeted at Heathrow by hundreds of fans, and even The Beatles sent limousines to pick them up and threw them a party.
