The Steve Miller Band was touring hard in 1970 when they played this gig. They had released Number Five in July which got to #23 on Billboard but wouldn't break big until The Joker, three years later. Judging by the capacity of Santa Monica Auditorium at around 3,000 this would have been a packed out show. James Gang had also released their stunning second album in July, James Gang Rides Again which made #20, so this was a killer double bill. I wish I'd seen it!
