To cut a long tortuous story short,...

To cut a long tortuous story short,...

... we’ve now got a joiner to build the studio on 22nd June. He seems competent and familiar with it. This after someone else took one look at it and declared it was too big for them. Frustrating to say the least. The lesson is if a joiner says they can do anything within 24 hours, it’s a red flag.

Anyway, on to other issues. I’ve been doing a half mile walk twice a day here and I’m finding my walking is improving. Legs are still heavy and I do get cramp in my calf a bit but my speed and consistency are noticeably better. Building strength all the time. It’s slow but change is discernable.

I just refuse to believe how I am now is set in stone. My arm and hand haven't gotten much better in two and a half years but I'm convinced my walking will and arms are apparently the last bit to recover after a stroke.

Just hosed the car down because it was covered in seagull shit. As we’re near the harbour they’re everywhere. It’ll stay clean for about an hour if we’re lucky but the fact I could hobble around it with the hose is quite a leap in mobility for me.

The delay in the studio has put back our withdrawal from the DJTees frontline. But then life is always like this isn’t it? Things rarely go smoothly or in a straight line. Meanwhile the landscaping of the gardens front and back continues apace just to get some sort of shape to it for summer. It’ll be an evolving situation. Dawn’s building borders out of stones reclaimed from the garden and building 3 planters out of wire and plaster which are now housing courgettes. The aim is to create a wildlife garden. We’ve done it before, so we know what to do and to plant. Seagulls aside, there’s not a lot of wildlife at the moment so we’re coming from a low base.

I promise we will get to doing some new designs soon because we’re running on fumes but life has really been getting in the way just now and absorbing all Dawn’s time

I was surprised that the quiz is now 35 weeks old, as it seemed just the other day when we started it. That’s 350 questions that I’ve dredged up from my rock brain. I’m pleased to say I am not the only obsessive who knows obscure facts from a lifetime of worshipping at the altar of the world of rock music. Some of you get most of them all correct. And some questions are seriously left field. It’s not just a matter of knowing your Skid Row from your Skid Row. Pleasing also that many of you use up your points to expand your t-shirt collection as it’s supposed to be a little reward for being a nerd like me in a world which thinks we’re mad! I doubt that many will get the latest quiz right, even I had to check them to make sure I remembered them correctly.
